Whether you're happily retired or still building sand castles — don’t worry, we’ve got something for you, right up our T-shirt sleeve! From loads of music and rich history to nature, fun for kids, adventure, and pure relaxation — get ready to explore 100% of what Omiš has to offer!

We’ve prepared something for everyone — history and culture lovers can enjoy a variety of activities like free guided city tours, museum visits after a swim, and exploring the fascinating pirate past of Omiš.
Visitors looking for action can start their day with aqua aerobics in the shallows or take a light morning hike up to Fortica, rising 303 meters above sea level!
Romantic souls can enjoy evenings filled with the sweetest harmonies of our UNESCO-listed vocal tradition — free Dalmatian klapa performances under the open sky — as well as folklore shows and free movie nights at the beach under the starry sky of Omiš.
And the little ones have their own special day — Wednesdays on Punta Beach are loaded with kids' programs, including creative workshops and fun sports activities they're sure to love!
HISTORY IN FLIP-FLOPS
MONDAYS, 9 AM
Let us flip-flop you through the city’s fascinating history on a FREE guided city tour! Monday mornings are the best time to get to know Omiš — with coffee in hand! That’s when you can join us, starting at 9:00 AM in front of the Tourist Information Center.
Our guide will take you up to Mirabela Fortress, pause at Poljica Square, and visit the churches of St. Michael, St. Roch, and the Holy Spirit. A special treat along the way is the House of a Happy Man — a hidden gem of our heritage we proudly preserve!
Once the tour ends, the whole day is still ahead of you — plenty of time for the beach, sea, and sunshine!
MOONSCREEN CINEMA
MONDAY NIGHTS
Lay back in the best beach chair on Punta Beach — summer Mondays in July and August bring you free movie nights under the stars! Sounds magical? Every visitor can confirm it — and this year’s premiere is on July 7th!
The program features Hollywood blockbusters and animated hits, all with English subtitles. Screenings begin as soon as the sun sets behind the beach, creating a magical atmosphere with the sound of waves, a summer breeze, and an incredible view.

AFTER BEACH HISTORY
TUESDAYS, 7 PM / 8 PM
One last splash, then head to Poljica — a fearless Omiš legend is waiting to meet you on the guided tour! Our costumed heritage interpreter, portraying the legendary 16th-century local heroine Mila Gojsalić, awaits you at the Historical Museum of Poljica in Gata — just a quick drive from the beach!
Here you’ll hear her story as a symbol of the fight for freedom and homeland, and then you’ll learn more about the Poljica Republic in the Middle Ages and its unique social system — which many believe inspired Thomas More’s famous book, Utopia.

SUNSCREEN AQUA AEROBIC
TUESDAYS & THURSDAYS, 11 AM
Stretch, stay healthy, and tone — in the sea, under the sun, and full of fun! Join us for an easy 30-minute aqua aerobics session at the Central city beach every Tuesday & Thursday at 11 AM, starting July!
It’s just the right amount of action to wake you up and fuel you with energy for the rest of the day. Feel free to jump in — our guided water workouts are perfect for all ages and fitness levels!
SUMMER HATS HIKE
WEDNESDAYS, 8 AM
Tie your laces, grab some water – the best views of your summer in Omiš come with a short guided morning hike! Step by step, after an easy 45-minute climb to 303 meters, you'll reach Fortica Fortress! We recommend wearing suitable shoes, bringing a large bottle of water, sunscreen — and the biggest hat you have! Our knowledgeable guides from Hiking Club Imber will lead the way, sharing fun facts about the local flora and fauna, as well as the fascinating history of our ancient town along the way.
The number of hikers is limited — so be the first in line at the Tourist Information Center and start your journey to the top!

ICE CREAM A CAPPELLA NIGHTS
THURSDAY EVENINGS
Tune in to the sweetest harmonies of a UNESCO-listed vocal tradition! If you hear heavenly a cappella voices echoing through the narrow streets of Omiš Old Town, know that it’s a FREE klapa performance — a vocal tradition listed on UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity list — and one that can melt even the most frozen ice cream! Our shows take place in various locations, so keep your ears wide open every Thursday evening – you never know which corner of Omiš will burst into song, starting June 5th!

POSTCARDS FROM THE PAST
FRIDAYS, 10 AM
Travel through time—and mail it home! City Museum guided tour and Glagolitic workshop are a winning history combo. This is a unique opportunity to explore the permanent exhibition at Omiš City Museum and dive into the fascinating heritage of three historical writing systems.
Here you can learn the basics of the ancient Glagolitic script and send your loved ones a postcard with your name and greetings in this iconic alphabet. Maybe you’ll write "You’ve got mail — from the distant past, I'm in Omiš having a blast!" in Glagolitic!

PIRATES’ TREASURE TALES

Open your ears and eyes to the golden tales & sights of Omiš's legendary pirates! If you want to learn more about our pirate ancestors, head to Mirabela Fortress — the iconic spot rich in pirate legends and maritime adventures!
From June 13th, after your afternoon swim each Friday, at this Omiš famous historic site with amazing panoramic views, our heritage interpreter in period costume will open a treasure chest filled with priceless stories and secrets of our legendary medieval sailors!

SURFBOARD OF HERITAGE
ONCE A MONTH
Feel the rhythm, hear the tradition — catch the wave of Omiš’s FREE open-air folklore nights, happening once a month at Poljica Square! Omiš then becomes a stage for traditional music and dance, bringing the spirit of the past to life under the open sky.
Let yourself be carried away by the sounds and movements that preserve the heritage of this region, performed by cultural and artistic groups from Omiš and the surrounding area.
The first event is scheduled for June 27, with KUD Dalmacija from Dugi Rat. Other dates to surf the waves of tradition are July 25th, August 22nd, and September 12th!
KIDS’ BEACH BUCKET

Let them create, let them run, we'll fill your kids' time with a bucket of fun! This one’s 100% for the kids — so feel free to leave all the beach toys back at your accommodation, we’ve got you covered! Wednesdays in Omiš are everyone’s favorite day of the week — just a few steps from the beach, kids can dive into a world of fun with free hit puppet shows, clown performances, painting workshops, sports activities, and cool educational sessions, while parents get a little time to kick back and relax.
PIRATE DAYS

If you're intrigued by our pirate heritage, grab your calendar and mark these dates — July 12, August 1, and August 18! Our Pirate Days are the highlight of the summer in Omiš — and for good reason. Each full-day program culminates in a spectacular pirate parade in lavish costumes and with treasure chests, marching through the city before numerous visitors, all set to the sounds of the Omiš City Band. When night falls, the celebration continues with live concerts by some of Croatia’s biggest stars at the Croatian Veterans Park.
