The 10th anniversary edition of the Omiš Half Marathon is now behind us, and this year it brought together more than 600 participants, once again proving why the race has increasingly found its place among the favorite running events of local and international runners in recent years.
On May 17, amateur and professional runners from Croatia and abroad arrived in Omiš to run through one of the most attractive landscapes in Croatia – the combination of the Cetina River canyon, the sea, cliffs, and Omiš beaches once again provided a stunning backdrop that made every kilometre feel easier.
With no rain and a sunny, warm spring morning, the great atmosphere could be felt from the very start at Poljički Square all the way to the final runners crossing the finish line.
New edition, new routes and a new running experience
One of the biggest highlights of this jubilee edition were the redesigned race routes. Although the start remained at the familiar location in the centre of Omiš – Poljički square, runners exited the Cetina canyon for the first time, while the rest of the course led them along the coastline and city beaches.
The updated course highlighted what makes the Omiš Half Marathon so unique – it is not just a race, but a true destination experience. More and more runners are choosing Omiš not only for the competition, but for the combination of sport, nature, and an authentic Dalmatian atmosphere. Over the years, Omiš has grown into one of Croatia’s most attractive outdoor and sports destinations, and the Half Marathon has become a must-run event on the regional racing calendar.
Runners from all over the world gathered in Omiš once again
The international character of the race was further confirmed by the arrival of numerous foreign runners from as many as 12 countries, including Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ukraine, Great Britain, Turkey, Germany, Serbia, the United States, Italy, and Russia, all of whom chose to spend a sunny Sunday in May in Omiš.
Three races and an amazing atmosphere throughout the city
Just like last year, three races were held – the 5 km race, this year sponsored by Galeb from Omiš, the 10 km race, sponsored by Hrvatska poštanska banka (HPB) and the 21 km half marathon.
The children’s race once again attracted special attention, bringing the biggest smiles and loudest applause from the crowd this year as well.

The adventure doesn’t end at the finish line!
The Omiš Half Marathon has long been more than just a race. For many runners, it has become a complete active weekend experience. After crossing the finish line, participants continued exploring everything Omiš has to offer – from rafting, kayaking, and canyoning to climbing, trekking, and countless sea and river activities.
That unique mix of outdoor adventure, Mediterranean scenery, and race-day energy is exactly what keeps runners coming back year after year.
Organized by the Omiš Tourist Board and Velvet Horizon, with the support of the Split-Dalmatia County Tourist Board and Split-Dalmatia County, this year’s edition once again brought together the local and international running community and confirmed the Omiš Half Marathon as one of the region’s standout running events.
Congratulations to all participants and winners – we can’t wait for the 11th edition!
