OMIŠ SUMMER FREI means 100+ days filled with 9 unique events bringing together music, local heritage, nature, kids’ fun, adventure and pure relaxation. And the best part? Most events are completely FREE!
From FREE guided morning walks through the old town, seaside hikes above the coastline, creative workshops in the museum, pirate stories at historic viewpoints, beach activities for kids, and nights filled with music, movies, and tradition under the open sky – OMIŠ SUMMER FREI is your daily invitation to join us whenever it suits you and discover 100% of Omiš!
OMIŠ SUMMER FREI also brings Pirates’ Day – a full-day programme dedicated to our pirate heritage, featuring a concert by Miroslav Škoro. In July and August, we are also bringing back Crazy Sea Jumps and Fishermen’s Night, an event that makes summers in Dalmatia truly unforgettable.

HISTORY IN FLIP-FLOPS
Mondays, 9 AM
Meeting point: Tourist Information Center
One walk, centuries of stories - discover Omiš step by step! Coffee first, history next - that’s how your Monday can start. Join this FREE 1.5-hour guided walk from the Tourist Information Center and explore landmarks like the House of the Happy Man, Fortress Mirabela, Poljica Square, and the churches of St. Michael, St. Roch and the Holy Spirit.
MOONSCREEN CINEMA
Mondays at main city beach Punta
Tonight’s forecast: 100% chance of a sky full of movie stars! On Monday nights in July and August, starting from July 6th, Punta Beach takes on the leading role! It turns into an open-air cinema where films are shown just steps from the sea, under the summer night sky. The setting is magical - beach, screen, and sound of the waves in the background.
The screenings feature a mix of well-known films and animated favourites, all with English subtitles.

AFTER BEACH HISTORY
Tuesdays, 7 PM (English language) / 8 PM (Croatian language)
Meeting point: Historical Museum of Poljica in Gata
Leave the beach behind – meet a 16th-century heroine! At the Historical Museum of Poljica in Gata, meet a costumed interpreter as Mila Gojsalić. Discover her story of courage, resistance, and the history of the Poljica – a system many believe inspired Utopia by Thomas More.

SUMMER HATS HIKE

A morning climb, a rewarding view, and sailboats that just keep getting smaller – keep active with this easy 303-meter hike to Fortica Fortress! Guided by a local guide from Hiking Club Imber, the walk is a light and enjoyable journey filled with stories about nature, wildlife, and our fascinating history. Before you set off, be sure to pack plenty of water, sunscreen, and your favourite summer hat – you’ll need them on this sunny little adventure.
Meeting point is at the Tourist Information Center - join us at this unforgettable climb to the top!

KIDS’ BEACH BUCKET
Wednesdays in July and August
Let them play the summer away – kids in Omiš have their day! Pack the swimsuits, grab the sunscreen, and leave the rest to us – because every Wednesday in July & August is all about nonstop kids’ fun by the beach, starting July 8th!
From puppet shows and clown performances to painting workshops, sports games, dancing, and fun educational activities, we’re turning Omiš into the happiest little summer playground.
Your little ones will laugh, create, play, and burn off all that holiday energy, while parents enjoy some well-deserved laidback beach time.
ICE CREAM A CAPPELLA NIGHTS

Fill your cones with scoops of UNESCO-listed Dalmatian harmony! Thursday nights come with the soundtrack of your summer - and it’s made of pure Dalmatian a cappella harmony!
Our FREE klapa performances will echo through the stone alleys of Omiš week after week, bringing a UNESCO-listed vocal tradition to life across little squares, hidden corners and open streets of the old town. Just follow the heavenly melodies - you never know where the next harmony will appear, starting June 4th!

SHELLS OF THE PAST
Fridays, 10 AM
Meeting point: Omiš City Museum
Travel back in time on our educational & creative workshop and decode a sea of symbols, colours and hidden stories waiting inside Omiš City Museum! Inside the museum, ancient heraldry tells tales of Omiš nobles, city leaders and Venetian families whose traces are still scattered through the old town like shells on the beach. Finally, switch from discovering to creating – a playful part of the workshop awaits, where you can piece together colours and shapes and design a crest that tells your own story.

PIRATES’ TREASURE TALES

Meeting point: Mirabela Fortress
Pirate mode: ON! Soak up the stories of Omiš pirates at Mirabela Fortress! Our great-great-great-grandfathers were pirates – and Mirabela Fortress still echoes with their legendary maritime adventures! Join us at Omiš’s most iconic pirate lookout, where breathtaking panoramic views meet stories of fearless sailors, daring battles and life on the Adriatic Sea – all told by our heritage interpreter in period costume. Every Friday from June 12th, discover the pirate history that shaped our town!

SURFBOARD OF HERITAGE

Surf into the night with music, dance, and tradition! This summer, KUU Mosor Gata and KUD Dalmacija Dugi Rat bring lively traditional dances, authentic costumes, and timeless Dalmatian melodies to Poljica Square during free open-air folklore nights under the stars.
