June 28th in Omiš: Pirates, Parades & a Miroslav Škoro Concert

Some summer traditions simply belong in Omiš, and Pirate Day is one of them.

On June 28th, the town’s pirate heritage comes back to life with an evening packed with kids activities, storytelling, a lively pirate parade through the old town and a concert by Miroslav Škoro under the stars.

As part of the Omiš Summer Frei programme, Pirate Day has become one of the most anticipated dates of the summer calendar – a celebration of the history that shaped Omiš into the town it is today. Through a vibrant programme of performances, activities, and festivities, the event brings Omiš’s legendary pirate past to life for locals and visitors alike.

Little Pirates, Big Adventures

The evening begins at Punta Beach, where children can choose between a pirate-themed obstacle course with Sanus Vita and a creative art workshop with Vera Art.

Whether they prefer running, competing and collecting pirate glory or getting creative with colours and imagination, there is plenty to keep young adventurers entertained.

The sports challenge is divided into two age groups:

  • ages 4 - 6: 7:15 PM - 7:45 PM

  • ages 7 - 12: 7:45 PM - 8:30 PM

No registration is required, simply join in and have fun!

The Stories Behind the Pirates

While the kids enjoy Punta Beach, history lovers can head up to Mirabela Fortress, where the free heritage interpretation tour Pirates' Treasure Tales begins at 7:30 PM.

Led by a costumed heritage interpreter, visitors will discover what life was really like for the famous Omiš pirates and how their legacy became one of the town’s most recognizable symbols.

The tour is free of charge. Admission to Mirabela Fortress is 6€.

When the Pirates Arrive, the Celebration Begins

At exactly 8 PM, the moment everyone waits for finally arrives - the traditional Pirate Parade.

Costumed pirates, historic props, marching music, and the unique atmosphere of Omiš's old town combine to create one of the most memorable summer experiences in the region. For a short while, the narrow stone streets feel as though they belong to another era.

The parade is organized by KPU Omiški Gusari and accompanied by the Omiš Town Band and members of the Society of Poljičani St. Jure Priko.

The Evening Ends with Miroslav Škoro

Pirate Day traditionally concludes with a live concert, and this year one of Croatia’s most beloved performers, Miroslav Škoro, takes the stage.

Starting at 9:30 PM in the Croatian Veterans Park, visitors can enjoy an evening filled with some of his best known songs and the unique atmosphere that only a summer night in Omiš can provide.

It's the perfect way to kick off the summer season - with history, tradition, family fun, and live music under the stars.

See you on June 28th in Omiš!
