Omiš in 3 days

An easy walk through the narrow alleyways of the old town, a relaxing boat trip to the Cetina canyon and the magnificent view from the Mirabela are quite enough to make you fall in love with Omiš at first sight. But this two thousand years old gem is too experienced to reveal all its charms at the very first meeting;)

It will take a bit more time for you to truly get to know the town, and if you’re staying for at least three days – here’s a list of things you shouldn’t miss.

1. A sightseeing tour on a wooden boat is one of the best ways to grasp the magnificence of the Cetina canyon, but for a true experience of such unspoiled nature it is sometimes necessary to put your own muscles to work.  Rafting on the Cetina is today one of the most popular canyon activities, tried by dozens of thousands of tourists each year. More than four hours of paddling down river rapids, swimming under waterfalls, walking through several thousand years old caves, sunbathing on hidden river beaches and…Hey, wait a minute! It’s good manners to at least read a sentence through before starting to google for rafting tickets ;-) But, don’t worry. We are here to help on this matter, as well. The following link provides a list of all travel agencies in town, most of which also offer rafting tours in the Cetina canyon.

2. While enjoying the stunning view of the Channel of Brač from the top of the Mirabela and Fortica fortress, you must have wondered which islands you were in fact looking at. And here is the answer - Brač, Hvar and Šolta. But why satisfy yourself merely with looking, when you can actually visit them?

When on vacation in Omiš, most of the islands of Dalmatia are virtually at your fingertips. Almost every boat or ship you see in the town port or at the Cetina mouth offers one-day tours to popular tourist destinations on the islands. And a boat ride along the coast makes the perfect opportunity to spot the ideal secluded cove where you can spend your third day in Omiš  ;)

3. And the key words of your last day in Omiš are rest and relaxation. As you may already guess – your possibilities are virtually endless in this regard as well. Did you know, for example, that only a kilometre from Omiš lies the longest stretch of sandy beaches in Croatia? And what is more – almost every inch of the Riviera of Omiš is suitable for swimming. From the long shallows of crowded sandy beaches, filled with all kinds of leisure activities, to the blue depths of pebble beaches in hidden, secluded coves, Omiš generously offers it all. And all you need to do is choose.
